Slavica bruxellensia privileges a transcultural and transdisciplinary approach to Slavic literature, culture and history. The journal has a comparative perspective and studies the cultural contact between Slavic peoples in geographical space and their relationship to the rest of the world. Its three yearly publications are made up of scientific articles, an interview with a personality from the Slavic world, an unpublished translation, the presentation of an aspect of the Slavic world with a timeless dimension and literary criticism.

The journal ceased publishing at Issue 12 of 2016.
